Student Success Statement

            Student Success Statement

“Be quick, but don’t get into a hurry.”

                                 -John Wooden

Reflection:
What I think about this quote of John Wooden is that we can do things quickly but not in a hurry because quick is doing it fast and in a hurry we aren’t going to get things done well or the right way. In hurry ways we don’t know what are we are doing and to get things done we should do it correctly. For example if we are going to read a ten pages chapter we should do it comely and not in a hurry because we are not going to know what that chapter is about and we will have to reread it again.

Student Success Statement

           Student Success Statement

“When I was teaching basketball, I urged my players to try their hardest to improve on that very day, to make that practice a masterpiece. This rule is even more important in life than basketball. You have to apply yourself each day to become a little better. By applying yourself to the task of becoming a little better each and every day over a period of time, you will become a lot better. Only then will you be able to approach being the best you can be. It begins by trying to make each day count and knowing you can never make up for a lost day.”
                                              -John Wooden

Reflection:
What I think about this quote of John Wooden is that improving every day counts to be a better person. If we try hard to change day by day we will be better of a period of time and not right away. And if you mess-up a day you can’t make it up. Just try harder and be better. For example better towards your family by respecting them, obeying, and not saying bad language. Do your best every day.

                  The Three Don’ts

                           Don’t whine
                           Don’t complain
                           Don’t make excuses

                              -John Wooden

Reflection:
What I think about this quote of John Wooden is that he didn’t want people to whine, complain, and make up excuses for things. He didn’t only think about his players but to everyone in the world. To see that if they try hard they can do it. He wants everyone to be successful in life.

            “The Three Nevers”

                    Never lie
                   Never cheat
                              Never steal

                      -John Wooden

Reflection:

What I think about this quote of John Wooden is that he was teaching his players to never lie, never cheat, and to never steal which is good because know in days there are a lot of bad people who do those kind of things. This man is giving his example to his players to follow. He won a lot of trophies by doing what is right. So never do things that later you might regret doing and follow John Wooden example.
